D&D 5e Utilities

Settlement Generator

Generate a village or a district of a larger settlement, including its local situation and a contextual population. Stat blocks are referenced by name, source, and challenge rating only.

The name is included in the generated result and printed output.

Town and City use the same district map model; they represent a district rather than the complete population of the settlement.

Generate between 100 and 1,000 NPCs.

The selected CR band controls the maximum NPC stat block reference: CR 0-4 up to CR 5, CR 5-10 up to CR 12, CR 11-16 up to CR 18, and CR 17+ with no limit.

The surrounding terrain influences minority races and NPC stat block references.

The dominant race represents approximately 80% of generated NPCs when other races are allowed.

Allowed Races

The dominant race is always included. Races listed as its foes are automatically excluded.

Regional alignment influences individual alignment together with racial tendencies.

Apply optional age-related ability modifiers inspired by earlier editions of D&D. Old and Very Old NPCs are affected.

Draw a schematic or rough map based on population, dominant race, Regional Alignment, environment, and the generated Notable Trait. Town and City districts always use an Urban layout; Environment provides secondary context only.

Allowed Sources

Only sources tagged for NPC stat block references are shown.
